GLOBAL WORK: Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel Dongchun New Town Kazakhstan Magok Mecca Ras Al Khaimah Suzhou Unbook Leisure Complex City		Dongchun New Town / Kyungki province As the Seoul metropolitan area expanded, Kyungki province created a new town to provide habitats for the new technology workers and families from the city. The plan of Dongchun New Town was designed to have more than 10,000 units with its own townscape and a concept that reflects the heritage of its existing environment. The site is a former furniture industrial area within a valley of beautiful mountains and creeks. Lee and Associates (LA), working with Mooyoung Architects, kept the context of the former town by locating the existing arts and crafts shop in the main commercial area. LA’s design also nested the residential buildings into natural terraced courtyards so each block would have their own characteristic community garden.
