GLOBAL WORK: Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel Dongchun New Town Kazakhstan Mecca Ras Al Khaimah Unbook Leisure Complex City		Ras Al Khaimah / UAE Lee + Papa and Associates collaborated with Ellerbe Becket Architects to master plan two campuses in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE. The 1000 acre site will be home for George Mason University and the Al Hamra Academy primary school, designed to be the most exclusive K-12 boarding school in the UAE. The site is located approximately one hour east of Dubai on a rolling desert landscape. Each campus evolves its form from the natural wadi running through the site forming a manicured landscape zone that seamlessly transition into the natural arid landscape. The entry sequence takes guests and users through the natural landscape into an entrance plaza and ceremonial lawn. The buildings terrace out from the central arrival point following the natural contours of the land as well as building overhangs for shade. The highest ridges are home to the student housing buildings that frame the site and capture the natural breezes and spectacular desert views. The George Mason University Campus and Al Hamra Academy, Phase I, is expected to be completed by the fall of 2008.
