Petworth is one of three sites selected by the District of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation to install spray parks. The spray park is a zero-depth water play park that provides a range of water experiences for children of all ages. The use of overhead spray features and ground sprays are designed to create a changing sequence of spray events. The "ART" concept is expressed through the use of a pencil, paintbrush and crayon spray features. The patterns and colors found on the surface plane suggesting the marks were created by the different drawing instruments. The use of color ties the rest of the site features into the theme.
